Sustainability. Technology. Social Justice.

When I first started my career as an engineer, I thought my interests in feminism, DEI, and social justice had nothing to do with technology and sustainability.

But as I learned and read more – particularly about racism, ableism, and environmental justice – I came to understand how social justice is a necessary and inextricable part of every conversation about sustainability and technology.

My mission at The Energy Girl is to educate myself and others in these three areas in which I believe leaders of this day and age must have expertise:

  • sustainability, because nothing could matter more than protecting and caring for the Earth
  • technology, because the rapid development and deployment of technology is reshaping our society and how we live our lives, for better or for worse
  • social justice, because we need to take care of the people around us, to prioritize those who are disproportionately affected by climate change, and to ensure that the technologies that we implement do not undermine the well-being and dignity of humanity

Thanks for stopping by.
